About us
In December 1998, Surjit Kaur Athwal was murdered in a so called 'honour killing'.
At the time of her murder, she was 27 years old, with two young children aged just 7 and 9 months.
Harrowingly, her murder was instigated by her mother-in-law, 70-year-old Bachan Kaur Athwal, in close collusion with Surjit's husband, Sukhdave Singh Athwal.
Her body has never been found.
To help those who may be harder to reach and harder to help, in 2015 True Honour was formed - by Sarbjit Athwal and Clive Driscoll.
We have two clear aims; to stop abuse and to help save lives.
We support survivors of Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation and pledge to help all victims of abuse, however we can.
We work closely with agencies across the UK and internationally, to help them gain a better understanding of the signs to spot, and the experience of victims.
We deliver bespoke training to frontline professionals, to raise awareness and help ensure those who are suffering abuse can break their silence, seek support and get justice.
A victim may have only ONE CHANCE to ask for help. Get in touch today to discuss how our training may help you turn that one chance, into change.
Thank you for contacting us.
We will get back to you as soon as possible.
