Sarbjit’s personal journey as a survivor of honour-based violence is the foundation of True Honour. Her tireless advocacy for victims, coupled with her lived experience, drives the charity’s mission. Sarbjit’s work has been pivotal in bringing these hidden crimes to the forefront of national attention.
Kevin Hurley is a former senior police officer with 30 years’ experience protecting vulnerable people. As Surrey’s first elected Police and Crime Commissioner, he led national work on FGM and victim support. His global advisory work on honour-based violence strengthens True Honour’s mission to protect survivors.
Dr Clive Driscoll is a retired Detective Chief Inspector with the Metropolitan Police. He was the Senior Investigation Officer on the murder of Surjit Athwal. The first HBV no body conviction.
He has been deputy Chair of True Honour since its formation.
Brendan brings over 40 years of experience as a financial consultant specialising in investments, pensions, and mortgage planning, following a decade in retail banking. Now retired, he uses his extensive financial knowledge to support True Honour’s governance, stability, and long-term growth with commitment and care.
Rajbir brings legal expertise and a passion for human rights to True Honour. She ensures that our governance meets the highest standards, enabling us to serve our beneficiaries effectively and ethically. As the niece of Surjit Kaur Athwal, she follows in the footsteps of her late father (Surjit’s brother) to bring about an end to HBV.
Andrea is a Chartered CIPD-qualified HR leader with 17 years’ global experience across major brands. She specialises in organisation design, leadership development, culture, and employee engagement. Her people-first approach creates inclusive, high-performing workplaces where individuals feel valued, supported, and able to thrive through change.
Shanai Nicole is a marketing and communications specialist dedicated to amplifying survivor voices and driving social impact. With expertise in digital strategy, branding, and content creation, she leads True Honour’s marketing efforts, raising awareness of honour-based abuse and strengthening the charity’s public presence and partnerships.
